Good statistics and teenage drivers do not go very well as of today. Sixteen year-old drivers are involved in accidents six times more frequent than those who are between 30 and 59. When talking about car insurance, this translates to very high premiums if you belong to the age group. That is just the reality when it comes to car insurance: the higher your risk, the higher you have to shoulder for the premiums.

Although the picture may seem very dim, the good news is that there are still car insurance companies that see the bright light. There are still auto insurance firms ready to give some good discounts for teenagers.

Here are some suggestions on how you can keep those car insurance premiums low:

Help the young driver be familiar with driving laws

The best way to keep the premiums low will be to keep the driving records of teenagers clean. Equip them with the knowledge. Teach them about the road signs and the driving laws of your state or your country.  Insist that they follow them.

    Be a good example

Do what you want your kids to do on the road. That means no tailgating, no beating the red light, and you following the road signs yourself. Keep a watch of how you behave on the road so you can be a good lead for your teenage drivers.
