insurance-5What’s one reason to stay in school? Well, in this economy, a very good reason is because, if you have more education, you will pay less on car insurance. The higher, the lower.

And do you know that you might be paying more because of your job? Statistically speaking, some occupations are riskier than others. For instance, an insurance agent who sits behind a desk the whole day will typically pay less than someone who delivers newspapers or flowers out of their personal vehicle.

Fun fact: married people pay less for car insurance. (Is it worth it, though? Let me rephrase that, in case my fiance is reading: that is totally worth it!)

If you have devices on your vehicle to protect it from theft, you can pay less.

If you have moving violations, you are going to be paying out the butt for a long time.

insurance-4I know something you don’t know! I know something you don’t know! Well, okay, I’m sure a lot of you do know many of the things I am about to tell you, but some of you may not — and that’s okay, that is what we are here for.

I’m here to tell you some of the facts you might know about the things that affect your car insurance premiums. I have been writing for this blog for a while and even I didn’t know some of these, so I thought I’d share the wealth — figuratively and literally speaking, because a lot of these could save you money.

You can thank me later. And if you would like to offer your thanks by sharing some of the virtual wealth, just leave a comment for my address and/or Paypal information!

    Just kidding!

…unless someone wants to take me up on it.

I’ll … just continue on to the next post now.

texting_while_drivingAlthough your attention being split up and the fact that you are not going to be concentrating on just one thing when you are texting and driving is a major factor of why it is a risk there is another reason.  Many states are actually passing all sorts of laws when it comes to talking and using your cell phone while driving.

In a lot of states, it is actually against the law to text or chat on your phone while driving, so if you are caught by a cop, you can actually get ticketed and pulled over.  A ticket is something that can rise up your car insurance premium, so in the long run; it can cost you more money than it is probably worth.

Just remember these points when you are texting or using your cell phone and driving and that should keep you from doing it!

It seems that in today’s generation, cell phones are the hottest new item and with how much technology they pack into them … it is a wonder that these things can not do our laundry and cook our dinner for us too.  While I would love to go on and on about how cool cell phones are – I am actually here to tell you about why you should not be using them while driving.

We all do it – send a quick text to a friend, send another one to your parents, another to your brother, it is a habit.  Texting is a habit but did you know that it can actually put you at risk when you are doing it when you are driving?

Texting and driving is something that can actually cause an accident, as you are not paying full attention to driving, which is dangerous.  More risks in the next blog!
